Refresher Event: British Gymnastics Physical Education Teachers Trampoline Award

If you’re a Physical Education teacher looking to refresh and build upon your trampoline teaching skills, the British Gymnastics Physical Education Teachers Trampoline Award Refresher is designed for you. This course offers an opportunity to revisit core techniques, safety protocols, and effective lesson planning, ensuring you continue to deliver safe, engaging, and high-quality trampoline sessions to your students.

Whether you’re looking to refine your understanding of key skills, explore updated safety measures, or enhance your teaching strategies, this refresher will equip you with the latest best practices in trampoline coaching within the school environment.

What You’ll Refresh:

  • Review of fundamental trampoline skills, including shaping, twisting, and landing techniques.
  • Refresher on safety protocols for spotting and supporting students.
  • Strategies for planning and delivering engaging trampoline lessons aligned with educational standards.
  • Methods to differentiate activities for varying skill levels and abilities.

Recommendations in attending:

We highly recommend that this course be completed every three years (as per the afPE Safe Practice in Physical Education, Physical Activity, and Sport guidelines – September 2024) to ensure your teaching, coaching, and best practices remain current and effective. All schools should have access to this essential publication, available on the afPE website.

This course offers the perfect opportunity to refresh and enhance the practical skills you gained through your British Gymnastics Teacher’s Trampoline qualification (Part 1 and/or Part 2). You will revisit critical areas such as creating a safe environment, adhering to the code of practice for trampoline folding and unfolding, and mastering the best methods for supporting participants through the skills you initially trained in. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive update on the latest teaching practices and safety standards related to trampoline use.
