Curriculum OverviewA small number of the schools have clearly defined the broad and overarching aims of their curriculum and broken them down into a clear progression of the knowledge pupils need to learn. In the schools where the curriculum is stronger, the most appropriate physical activities and sports to teach are prioritised. These activities are selected because they enable pupils to learn essential subject-specific knowledge to meet clearly defined, ambitious end points of the curriculum. 'Levelling the playing field'An evaluation of PE OFSTED 20/09/2023 This course aims to: Develop subject knowledge and provide confidence to teach safe, inspiring and high quality gymnastics in the primary school. How long does it take: A practical day in a primary school setting where there is access to fixed and portable gymnastics apparatus and children who can demonstrate a range of gymnastics skills and create sequences of movement using the floor and apparatus.
Who is it for: Primary staff with QTS, PE subject leaders. HLTA’s, TA’s and Sports Coaches. To deliver a quality gymnastics curriculum you do not have to be a gymnast yourself! Moreover, you need to feel confident and understand what this subject looks like in the primary school.
