The Premier League has teamed up with the Anti-Bullying Alliance to launch ‘Choose Respect’, a free, curriculum-linked teaching resource aimed at supporting schools in promoting respect and tackling bullying. Available for download on the Premier League Primary Stars website from the 6th November launch date, the resource is designed for teachers of children aged 7-11 and uses football-themed activities to spark classroom discussions on respect for all, regardless of gender, race, or ability.

Key features of the ‘Choose Respect’ teaching pack include:

  1. Interactive lesson plans that encourage pupils to reflect on their behaviour and build respectful relationships.
  2. Football scenarios that emphasise respect both on and off the pitch.
  3. Practical worksheets to help children understand and apply key concepts in their daily lives.
  4. A film reinforcing positive behaviour, accompanied by a word bank of terms such as acceptance and conflict.

This new resource is part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme, which has been providing teachers with free, high-quality materials across a range of subjects since 2017. With over 650 resources available, Primary Stars aims to harness children’s love of football to promote active learning and essential life skills.
