The APPG on A Fit and Healthy Childhood: ‘Fair Play for Girls'

We’ll all cheer on the Men’s England team later this year to end 58 years of hurt for English football. But in 2022, the Lionesses actually WON the European Championship and were finalists in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Throughout the UK, entrenched barriers of misogyny, funding, prejudice and inequality deter girls from physical activity and deny them the opportunities that would allow them to realise their dreams or simply to make sport integral to their daily lives, essential to their health and wellbeing.

That is why today, the APPG on A Fit and Healthy Childhood is proud to launch the FAIR PLAY CHARTER: a common-sense strategy for Government to ensure that there is a ‘level playing field’ for every girl in the sport of her choice.

And if her dream is to one day run the FA, then we say: 'BRING IT ON!’
