The LTA was delighted to pick up a trophy at the London Sport Awards for its work focusing on woman and girls. Colleagues Tanya Woodward, Shane McCullough, Amie Martin, and Alexis Simms, with support from a huge number of others, were nominated in the Enhancing the Workforce category for the LTA SERVES Level Up London programme. This project, funded by LTA Tennis Foundation with money raised at the 2022 Laver Cup held in London, further enhanced the LTA SERVES programme. It has focused on woman and girls. Twenty LTA SERVES Activators have been upskilled with 80% of them being female. After taking part, 85% of all Activators felt they had greater confidence delivering to girls with greater overall quality of delivery and 92% were either already delivering or intending to deliver more tennis. Tanya Woodward, Participation Development Manager, was at the ceremony at The Guildhall to collect the prize. She said: “I am honoured to receive this award on behalf of the incredible team who delivered the Level Up London Project. “It is such a fantastic achievement. The success would not have been possible without the commitment of the wonderful LTA SERVES Activators and Mentors, in creating an engaged and enhanced workforce across London helping to deliver our vision of ‘tennis opened up.’ ” Read more about the project here: The LTA Tennis Foundation funds the LTA SERVES Level Up London project to enhance female engagement in tennis
