Teaching Gymnastics in the Primary School

The Association for Physical Education (afPE) is delighted to present this new professional development which aims to support teachers to develop competence and confidence to teach safe and inspiring gymnastics in the primary school.

The delivery of this course is split as follows:
1. A one hour webinar addressing aspects of gymnastics teaching in the primary school. Tuesday 16th April, 4-5pm

2. A practical day in a primary school setting.
Friday 19th April, 9.30-4pm

Who is it for:
- Primary staff with QTS, PE subject leaders.

- HLTAs and TAs and sports coaches who contribute to teacher up-skilling

Delegates will;
- develop their knowledge of health and safety principles in primary school gymnastic  activity including moving and using large apparatus.

- understand how to plan effectively to develop pupils' learning through gymnastics be more knowledgeable about teaching gymnastics skills in a safe progressive and inclusive way.
