Qualified PE teachers in England, who are currently teaching are invited to take part in a research project that aims to examine current practice and attitudes towards transgender issues among secondary Physical Education teachers in England. The project is being conducted collaboratively by researchers from Leeds Beckett University and the University of Gloucestershire, and has been granted ethical approval by Leeds Beckett University. What will the research involve? If you give your permission to participate, you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire that will take around 10-15 minutes. Do you have to take part? No, participation in the study is entirely voluntary. You will be asked to provide your consent by answering the questions below. However, you will be free to withdraw from the project any time up until two weeks after the completion of your questionnaire. You can withdraw without providing justification, and any data you have provided will not be used in the study. For exact details on how to withdraw see below. What will happen to the results of the study? The results will be presented in academic journal papers, book chapters, and conference presentations. Findings may also be used to inform future policy and practice decisions related to schools, organisations, and National Governing Bodies. How do I withdraw from the research? You can withdraw from the project at any stage during completion of the questionnaire, or any time up until two weeks after the questionnaire has been completed. To withdraw from the project during completion of the questionnaire you would simply need to close the web browser without clicking ‘submit’. Should you wish to withdraw from the project after you have completed the questionnaire, you can do so by contacting the researcher within two weeks of completion to ask for your data to be removed from the study and deleted. In order to do so, you will need to provide your questionnaire receipt number that will have been generated by the questionnaire software and made available to you on completion of the questionnaire.
