afPE National Physical Education & Sport Conference – 4th & 5th July 2012

29 May 2016

“Back to our roots – Empowering professionals, maximising impact”

Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire – 4th & 5th July 2012

If there is one event to go to this year – it’s this one!

There is a clear steer that teachers and other support colleagues should be inspirational in delivering a world class curriculum. We therefore need to be creative and innovative to inspire all young people.

This is the conference where you will be able to access cutting edge developments, innovative thinking, developmental resources and discussion. The comprehensive conference programme has been designed to support you in your challenging roles.

In recognising your limited time and resources, this year, conference spans two full days of inspirational keynotes and interactive workshops and offers reduced fees.

afPE’s Chair – Eileen Marchant on why you should attend the conference

“In my role as Chair of the Association I have attended a significant number of conferences right across the country both as a delegate, facilitator and speaker. All have provided good professional learning opportunities but without doubt I know that the afPE National Conference is the crème de la crème and one which should not be missed.

It not only provides excellent keynotes, workshops and exhibition but it also draws a wide range of delegates with endless networking opportunities.

I know that budgets are limited but compare the cost of this conference with others and you will realise it is extremely good value for money; don’t hesitate and book your place now.”

Richard McCann – Inspiring Leaders for the Future

Richard McCann was brought up on the ‘At Risk’ register and also spent time with foster families and children’s homes before being brought up by his estranged and often violent father who took away any self esteem that he had.

He experienced drink, drugs, deprivation as well as suicidal thoughts. He left school with no qualifications and after being kicked out of the army for psychological reasons he turned to drugs to ease his depression and finally found himself serving time in prison.

For most there was little hope for him but somehow Richard has become one of the busiest speakers in the UK. Hear how the intervention of one of Richard’s teachers would influence and shape Richard’s life in a way neither of them could have ever comprehended.
