13 October 2015
afPE is delighted to be supporting the Suffolk Physical Education and School Sport Conference 2016

Date & Venue: Thursday, 3rd March 2016 at Newmarket Race Course.

The World Health Organisation’s revised definition of health states that ’health is a resource for everyday life’.

How can high quality school PE and sport programmes help all young people to recognise the importance of physical activity to the achievement of wellbeing?

The Government’s commitment to improving Primary school PE & sport provision comes in the shape of the Primary PE & Sport Premium which was introduced in 2013 and continues until 2020.

The funding should be used to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE that is offered, with the vision being: ‘All pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport’ along with a key indicator of success being: ‘the engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – kick-starting healthy active lifestyles’.

If this resonates with you, then attendance at this conference is a must.

Inspirational speakers will contextualise the role high quality PE and sport can make to young people’s understanding of, and involvement in, purposeful physical activity with a focus on fitness for health.

Benefits of attending the conference include:

  • Inspirational, internationally-renowned speakers and tutors
  • The latest information on PE and sport to further develop your provision and ensure quality teaching
  • Maximising the impact on all pupil outcomes including: standards, participation, health & well-being
  • Diverse, highly relevant and interactive range of workshops from which to choose
  • Be challenged to think differently and reinvigorate your practice
  • Networking with like-minded colleagues
