Secure your place at the 2016 Physical Education Initial Teacher Training Education (ITTE) Conference

The 2016 Annual Initial Teacher Training and Education ITTE Conference will take place on Thursday 17th March 2016 at the University of Wolverhampton Science Park, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.  

Organised by the Association for Physical Education (afPE), this conference invitation is open to lecturers, teachers/practitioners and professional stakeholders involved in PE ITTE in the UK. It is hoped that you will join together in this great networking event to engage, inform and inspire.

The overarching theme of the conference this year, ‘Partnership in the provision of PE initial and continuing teacher education’, recognises the evolution of the PE ITTE landscape over the last 10 years, acknowledges the continuing growth both in the number and range of ITT provider identities and explores future directions in PE ITTE.  Focusing on best practice, afPE believes it is essential that ITTE providers proactively seek ways to work together to ensure high quality PE delivery and outcomes in schools.

  • SCITT Providers

Conference Aims:

  • To ask questions of, and discuss issues with national leads, such as DfE, NCTL, Department for Business, Innovation & Skills and Ofsted
  • To share innovative and creative initiatives with colleagues relating to partnership in the provision of PE initial and continuing teacher education
  • To update colleagues on new developments and initiatives relating to ITTE, PE and school sport
  • To provide colleagues with opportunities to: (a) critically discuss current issues  and topics, (b) learn with and from others and, (c) network and socialise
