UCAS publishes latest data on acceptances by subject
06 January 2016
UCAS has published detailed analysis of applications and acceptances for the different types of higher education courses offered in 2015. The data shows the number of people (separated by sex and age) accepted to study a particular course from 2006 to 2015 – so trends and popularity can be identified. Within this analysis is the number of men and women accepted to over 150 higher education subjects, showing there are more women than men in two thirds of the courses. UCAS showed in their End of Cycle report last month that UK women are 35% more likely to go university than men – meaning the sex-gap has widened to a record level.
