To continue to support our members and the PESSPA sector, the Association for Physical Education is scheduling regular webinars covering a wide range of diverse and topical subject areas. These will be specifically available for afPE members, although some will be open to the public. A recording of the webinars and presentation slides/handouts will be uploaded to the members’ area of the afPE website following the broadcasts. - Title: Drowning Prevention Week – Adding value to your swimming and water safety curriculum outcomes

- Description: Drowning Prevention Week is the annual water safety campaign of the Royal Life Saving Society UK. The campaign is designed to support schools and leisure operators to educate young people about water safety at a critical time of the year, as statistically, we enter a risk period for young people drowning.The webinar will introduce the resources available to support the teaching of the subject and make the links to the curriculum, including the links with the program of study, strategies for keeping safe in the local environment or unfamiliar places (rail, water, road) and firework safety; safe use of digital devices when out and about.
