The purpose of this document is to summarise & simplify key issues that are signposted and simplified in the following documents:

1) afPE Safe Practice (2016)
2) Best Practice Guidance on the Effective Use of Individual and Agency Coaches in Physical Education & Sport (PES)
3) DVD – Supporting the delivery of Physical Education & Sport

This document is aimed at:

a) Governors (with responsibility for PE)
b) Head teachers
c) Subject Leaders
d) National Governing Bodies
e) Coaches
f) Coach Managers/Deployers

The minimum operating standards required by coaches working during curriculum time to support teachers in the delivery of High Quality Physical Education. The intention should not be to replace or displace teachers, but instead to support aiming for a sustainable approach.
