TCS Mini London Marathon in Schools

07/03/2023 TCS Mini London Marathon is back, with a special challenge for 2023! Schools across the UK took part in the 2022 TCS Mini London Marathon in schools with thousands of children running, jogging, walking or wheeling 2.6 miles in their school last October. This year – as the TCS London Marathon moves back to its traditional spring slot in the calendar, on Sunday 23 April – the TCS Mini London Marathon in schools will take place from Monday 17 April to Friday 12 May. But that’s not the only difference in 2023 – they are setting schools across the UK a special challenge: to achieve a Guinness World RecordsTM title. That’s right, schools can inspire their pupils to be active and every single child can be part of a real record attempt! What do schools need to do? To help us set a new Guinness World Records title, there are three important steps to follow: Step one: sign up your pupils to run, jog, walk or wheel one mile as part of the TCS Mini London Marathon in schools. The entry system for schools will be open soon. It will only take a couple of minutes for a school to enter and complete step one. There needs to be one entry per school. Entry into the 2023 TCS Mini London Marathon in schools and taking part in the record attempt is completely free of charge. Then final two steps… Step two: to break the record, every pupil in all the registered schools will need to pledge to take part. From Monday 17 April every registered school will be sent a special link to do this with full instructions and pupils will need to take the pledges by Friday 12 May. Don’t worry, it won’t take too long – the pupils can make their pledge in their classrooms, and it will take less than 10 minutes for a class of 30 or so to make their pledges, as long as they have access to an interactive screen. Step three: Run, jog, walk or wheel one mile in your school between Monday 17 April and Friday 12 May!
