Following on from a rigorous application process, the Association for Physical Education is delighted to announce the appointment of two new members of staff to the SLT.
afPE is growing its staff team to enable the association to deliver its new strategic plan which involves a commitment to support a highly skilled workforce and to ensure that physical education is a transformational experience for all children and young people.
Steve Caldecott joins as the Deputy CEO and Vanessa King has accepted the role of Assistant DCEO.
afPE’s CEO Sue Wilkinson MBE said:
‘We are extremely excited to expand the leadership team to support the delivery of the strategic plan. Our focus will be on the support to the membership, the positioning of transformational PE, ensuring it is firmly embedded at the heart of school life and taught by an exceptional workforce. Steve and Vanessa have a wealth of expertise and we cannot wait to take the next steps to further develop the work of afPE.’
afPE’s Chair, Dr Jeanne Keay said:
‘I’m delighted that after a long and very thorough selection process we have secured the services of Steve and Vanessa to join Sue on the afPE Leadership Team. These appointments will help us to drive the PE agenda forward and achieve the outcomes we set out in our Strategy last year.’
