Win a residential trip to the Swanage Centre in Dorset

The Association for Physical Education (afPE) has teamed up with The Swanage Centre in Dorset (www.theswanagecentre.co.uk) to offer UK secondary schools the chance to win a free residential trip. Perfect for outdoor adventure sports and natural history excursions, the centre has an array of onsite facilities to ensure students experience a safe and unforgettable trip to the beautiful Jurassic Coast.

The prize:

The winning school will receive a three-night stay with full-board accommodation for three teachers and 12 students at The Swanage Centre. Dates can be negotiated with the centre.

To enter:

Part A – answer the following question.

How long is the Jurassic Coast? Choose from:

  1. 52 miles
  2. 96 miles
  3. 127 miles

Part B – using the template, submit a short case study showing how you use outdoor and adventurous activities (OAA) to support your students’ development in and/or beyond physical education.

The selection process:

  • Correct entries will be put into a prize draw which will be drawn and the winner announced at the afPE National Conference on 5th July 2017.
  • The winning secondary school will be contacted by The Swanage Centre and organise the residential details direct with the centre.
  • The case studies will be published in future editions of the afPE journal Physical Education Matters.
  • Following the residential, the winning school students will be invited to write a short report on their experience for a future edition of Physical Education Matters.

Entries must be submitted on the template to editor@afPE.org.uk by Friday, 16th June 2017.
