Ofqual Seeking Feedback from Teachers, Tutors and Home-Educators on the Adaptations to Exams

Ofqual, the regulator of qualifications in England, is surveying teachers, tutors and home-educators who taught students who took GCSE, AS or A level qualifications in summer 2022.

A number of adaptations were made to the assessment arrangements for GCSEs, AS and A levels in 2022, following a joint consultation by the Department for Education (DfE) and Ofqual. This survey will focus on 3 of these adaptations – further information below.

On 7 February 2022, advance information about the content of GCSE, AS and A level exams (or parts of the exams) in most subjects was published by the exam boards, AQA, Eduqas, OCR and Pearson. The purpose of advance information was to help students focus their revision and make exams less daunting. It was not intended to reduce the amount of content that needed to be studied or assessed for any GCSE, AS or A level qualification.

In April and May 2022, before exams began, Ofqual surveyed students and teaching staff to gather views about these 3 adaptations whilst revision was taking place. In this current survey they would welcome feedback about these adaptations now that students have received their results.

If you taught, tutored, or home-educated students who took exams for a qualification in summer 2022 in which any of these adaptations were in place, Ofqual would appreciate your views.

This survey will remain open until 11.59pm on Wednesday 14 September 2022. Click HERE for further information.
