afPE Responds to Health Secretary’s ‘Prevention is Better than Cure’ Vision

Following on from the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock’s vision, published on Monday, afPE believes, as does the Minister, that prevention is better than a cure.

Education is the key to preventative action and education through the physical domain will increase competence, academic performance, emotional health and physical well-being. Teachers of PE should be there to inspire learning. We are not medically trained but through education we can help with a preventative strategy.
