The Association for Physical Education (afPE) is very sad to report the untimely passing of afPE Honoured Member, Gill Parry.

Gill had been a life long member of both baalpe and afPE and was board member of the North West region of the Association as well as a member of the afPE Quality Mark validation team.

Gill was a passionate and committed physical educationalist who had initially trained at IM Marsh PE College.

Sue Wilkinson MBE, afPE’s CEO said:

“We are all deeply shocked. Gill was taken from us too quickly and far too young and we know she will leave a huge gap in the hearts of the profession, colleagues and her family.”

“There are so many things we can say about Gill, not least her professionalism, commitment and passion for ensuring that teachers had access to the best professional learning available. Tributes have been coming into the office celebrating Gill’s achievements and many highlight what an excellent mentor she was. On a personal note, I will always have fond memories of Gill’s engagement at our National Conference and how she supported new delegates and championed physical education.”

Our thoughts are with her husband David, family and friends at this difficult time.

Rest in peace Gill.
