afPE Webinar – A Recovery Curriculum

The Association for Physical Education is pleased to announce the next in our series of free webinars to support the PESSPA workforce to reactivate learning as part of the roadmap to recovery.

Vanessa King will be delivering the following session:

Webinar Title: A Recovery Curriculum: Prioritising Physical Education and Physical Activity for children’s wellbeing

Summary: This webinar will consider child development theories and the importance of the school role in having a positive impact upon children, focusing on the benefits of high quality Physical Education and physical activity. It will give some practical examples of how to facilitate high quality Primary PE for generalist teachers and how to weave physical activity into the day in order to maximise children’s daily physical activity. The focus being to help improve children’s fitness and wellness following the periods of lockdown. Examples from Outstanding schools will be shared, with practical advice for PE leads in primary schools about how to create an active culture within schools and facilitate buy in from all stakeholders who have a vested interest in supporting school development.

Time and Date: 4pm to 5pm on Wednesday 12th May 2021.
