Celebrating the achievements of the heroes working in primary schools across the UK to inspire Generation Active

The Active School Hero programme, delivered by ukactive and Nike, looks to celebrate those individuals employed or deployed in a Primary School setting who champion physical activity, and go the extra mile in providing opportunities for their young people. It is an important opportunity to celebrate the school staff that make a real difference, not only teaching, but motivating, empowering and inspiring children to get active and realise their full potential.

Active children are healthier, happier and more successful. They perform better in their classrooms, communities and future careers. By championing these heroes, we hope to inspire school communities across the UK to get even more kids moving and transform Generation Inactive into Generation Active.

  • The role of primary school staff in getting kids active is largely undervalued. However, we know there are great examples of heroes out there, working day-in, day-out to introduce fun and play into the school day.
  • That’s why ukactive Kids and Nike are entering our fourth year of Active School Hero and expanding the search to the four nations of the UK, to recognise the achievements of those people working in primary schools who are helping to get kids active.

The nomination deadline is the 6th May 2022, so send in your nominations to find the UK’s Active School Hero 2022 who could go on to be crowned the first ever UK wide Active School Hero.
