Oak National Academy – Workload and Curriculum: What Have Teachers Told Us?

In September 2022, Oak became an independent public body and their remit evolved. As well as being there as a backstop during challenging times, they’ve been tasked with supporting teacher workload reduction and curriculum expertise.

To help them understand how they can continue to best support teachers in tackling workload and in curriculum design, they’ve spent the last year digging into these areas. To share what they’ve learnt with others in the sector, they’ve brought together insights gathered through a range of research methods into a new report: ‘Workload and curriculum: what have teachers told us?’.

The report explores:

  • The challenges teachers are facing nationally with managing their heavy workload and curriculum.
  • The role Oak has played to date in supporting them.
  • What more teachers want on these issues nationally, and from them.
