afPE Approved Professional Development Providers (APDP) – Our CPD provider accreditation serves as a trusted benchmark for excellence in physical education training. Accredited providers demonstrate a commitment to enhancing teacher confidence, subject knowledge, and pupil engagement in PE. Windows of Application:

  • Monday 14th December 2026 - Friday 22nd January 2027

  • Monday 15th March 2027 - Friday 23rd April 2027

  • Monday 19th July 2027 - Friday 27th August 2027

Cost and Duration of Accreditation:

Initial Application:

  • £600 + VAT
    If your application is unsuccessful, you will be able to reapply in the next application window free of charge. If your application is not successful on a second attempt, any future submissions will be charged at the full fee once you feel your organisation is ready to re-enter the accreditation process.

  • Lasts 3 years from Date Accredited

Renewal Application:

  • £390 + VAT 
    At the end of your initial application, we invite you to renew at this reduced rate. If your application is unsuccessful, you will be able to reapply in the next application window free of charge. If your application is not successful on a second attempt, any future submissions will be charged at the full fee once you feel your organisation is ready to re-enter the accreditation process.

  • Lasts 3 years from Date Accredited

Please note that payments are non-refundable, so we strongly advise applicants to ensure their CPDs are in the best possible place before formally applying

Process for Accreditation:

  1. Complete the declaration of interest on the button above

  2. The APDP team will get in contact with further information and an official application form

  3. Submit your application to pdb@afpe.org.uk for one of the above application windows

  4. Process payment of your application

  5. Provide any login details and supporting documentation of your CPD

  6. Take part in a short online interview with two of our panel members to give a brief overview of your CPD and the rationale.

  7. Await feedback from our team as to the status of your application

  8. If your application is successful you will be provided with the Approved Professional Development Provider logo for your resources and signposted on the afPE website

  9. Revised submissions are allowed in the following application window. Re-application is required every 3 years
