afPE Approved Curriculum Resources (ACR)– your trusted mark of quality for physical education resources. This approval process ensures that teaching and learning materials used in PE are evidence-informed, inclusive, and aligned with national guidance and best practice. By accrediting high-quality resources, we support schools, educators, and developers in delivering meaningful, impactful physical education. Whether you are seeking approved resources to enrich your curriculum or interested in submitting your own for review, we are here to uphold excellence and consistency across PE provision.

Windows of Application:

  • Monday 14th December 2026 - Friday 22nd January 2027

  • Monday 15th March 2027 - Friday 23rd April 2027

  • Monday 19th July 2027 - Friday 27th August 2027

Cost and Duration of Accreditation:

Initial Application:

  • £800 + VAT
    If your application is unsuccessful, you will be able to reapply in the next application window free of charge. If your application is not successful on a second attempt, any future submissions will be charged at the full fee once you feel your organisation is ready to re-enter the accreditation process.

  • Lasts 2 years from Date Accredited

Renewal Application:

  • £400 + VAT
    At the end of your initial application, we invite you to renew at this reduced rate. If your application is unsuccessful, you will be able to reapply in the next application window free of charge. If your application is not successful on a second attempt, any future submissions will be charged at the full fee once you feel your organisation is ready to re-enter the accreditation process.

  • Lasts 2 years from Date Accredited

Please note that payments are non-refundable, so we strongly advise applicants to ensure their resources are in the best possible place before formally applying

Process for Accreditation:

  1. Download and complete the application form

  2. Submit your application to curriculumresourceapproval@afpe.org.uk for one of the above application windows

  3. Process payment of your application

  4. Provide any login details and supporting documentation of your resources

  5. Take part in a short online interview with one of our evaluators to give a brief overview of your resources and the rationale behind your curriculum

  6. Await feedback from our team as to the status of your application

  7. If your application is successful you will be provided with the Approved Curriculum Resource logo for your resources and signposted on the afPE website

  8. Revised submissions are allowed in the following application window. Re-application is required every 2 years
