kneeling whilst hips up and forward, walking on knees forwards and backwards.
Side to side kneeling
The concept is to use the tennis racket to control the ball without the ball rolling away.
Cat
Children to roll the ball and run forward and stop.
Total extension
Children to roll over and back keeping bodies extended and as long as possible.
Total flexion
The children need to kneel down and move side to side.
Children are on hands and knees and they need to arch their back and curl their back – angry cat, and happy cat.
Ask children to lay on their backs and stretch with their arms above their heads and toes points – try to make themselves as long as possible and hold for 10 seconds.
Ball control
Children use their hand to roll their ball around the hoop slowly and with control.
Kneeling and moving
Children to form a tuck position on the floor, tucking chin on chest and curling into a small ball, using their arms to hug their knees.
Half kneel and twist
This builds on block A, children to begin kneeling down and then lift a leg up and forward, but this one twist to turn in one direction. Repeat with the other leg.
Moving table
Hopping
Children need to hop on one leg and then repeat on the other. The idea is to have controlled movements and not be shaking side to side.
