afPE Webinar - Hanna Miller: Key Findings Following the Ofsted Subject Report on Physical Education

Session Overview: In 2022, Ofsted published the PE research review which explored the literature relating to the field of PE. The purpose was to identify factors that can contribute to high-quality school PE curriculum, assessment, pedagogy
    and systems.

They then undertook a review between November 2022 until June 2023 using this understanding of subject quality to examine how PE is taught in England’s schools. The subject report to share what has been learnt was published on 20th September 2023.

Hanna Miller, His Majesty's Inspector and Ofsted's Subject Lead for Physical Education, explains the findings of the detail, explodes some myths and answers questions raised by afPE colleagues.

Over the last year, CAS has supported 20 localities and over 170 schools across England to create whole-school approaches to physical activity.
Drawing on learning from the Sport England funded Bradford Local delivery pilot (JUMP) and the national roll out for CAS, this presentation will give attendees ideas on leading cultural change for physical activity within their schools and localities.
While CAS is currently focused on primary schools, many of the messages are transferable to the secondary setting. The webinar will close with a view of what the next steps are for CAS and how your school or locality can get involved in the future.
