- Provide structures for recording your achievements.
- Facilitate your personal planning for CPD.
- Provide a framework for gathering your evidence to support the processes of accreditation.

In 2000, the government launched a national strategy for CPD, which was supported by the development of the original Professional Development Record (PDR). Today's version of the PDR, newly revised for 2007, will meet the needs of the changing educational climate and, in particular, the workforce reform agenda, to support your expanded career opportunities in physical education and school sport.
