High Quality Physical Education & School Sport Posters
When making a decision about the quality of physical education and school sport it is advisable to use the Ofsted criteria in order to gather evidence to support the final judgement. In the quest for high quality schools should aim to achieve at least good and afPE has developed two posters which exemplify the link between Ofsted criteria and the PESSCL 10 High Quality outcomes. High Quality Physical Education and School Sport contribute to achieving the five outcomes of Every Child Matters.
Poster One is a simplified version of the PESSCL one produced by afPE in partnership with DfES which was available at the PDM conference. This poster illustrates the outcomes of High Quality Physical Education and School Sport; in other words if Standards of Achievement and Personal Development and Well-Being are judged to be good, using the Ofsted criteria, you would expect to see pupils demonstrating the 10 High Quality outcomes.
Poster Two illustrates the main contributory factors which support good standards and personal development; in other words Teaching and Learning, Curriculum and Other Activities, Care and Guidance and Leadership and Management which are judged to be good will support the achievement of High Quality Physical Education and School Sport.
