afPE a UK Organisation - The Home Countries and English Regions

afPE has established a home country and regional membership structure which includes the home countries of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland plus nine regions in England (full listing below). The exciting challenge ahead is to develop that structure to embrace a growing afPE membership, which will meet the needs and expectations of everyone.

On joining, afPE members are allocated to a home country or English region through their postcodes on the database, but any member can request to be allocated to a different one, for instance if they work in a different region or home country from their home address.

The development of vibrant hubs in the home countries and English regions, each with administrative support, is a future aspiration and we envisage a sharing of practice across the regions, using a range of forums such as the annual afPE Conference, a dedicated section within Physical Education Matters and the website.

Any member who would like to get involved in and/or support the work in their region should contact: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Yorkshire & Humber PE Conference Review & Video

The afPE Yorkshire and Humber Region held their annual conference (entitled: "Physical Education at the Heart of the New Curriculum") in Barnsley at the beginning of October and once again it proved to be an outstanding success with over sixty delegates in attendance.

In light of the current National Curriculum Review together with the revision of the Ofsted Framework for Inspection the theme of the conference was focused on putting physical education at the heart of the new curriculum.
